Literary recollections and scraps compiled by Richard Rush [manuscript], 1802-1803.

Brief criticism and impressions of thirty of Shakespeare's plays (omitting Comedy o f Errors, Love's labor's lost, King John, Henry IV part 1, Titus Andronicus, Coriolanus, and Pericles). Also several pages of general criticism of Shakespeare. The earlier pages are devoted to criticism of Dr. Johnson's writings and Boswell's Life [of Samuel Johnson] and to critical reviews of novels by Smollet Fielding, Goldsmith, and others. The compiler dated the original compilation 1802-03 and made additions in 1823, 1843, and 1846.
